Whole homes and single rooms
The house, apartment and office examples come from the editor's templates and are drawn from the templates themselves, floor by floor. The bedroom and kitchen examples are single rooms with their furniture placed to size; they open furnished in meters or in feet and inches.
The notes give the sizes and the space left around the furniture in both unit systems. The notes call a clearance a rule of thumb when that is all it is.

Frequently asked questions
How is an example different from a template?
A template is a starting project you open and change. An example page explains one or more plans: why the rooms sit where they do and how much space the furniture leaves. The whole-home examples are drawn from the templates; the bedroom and kitchen layouts exist only as examples.
Can I use an example as the start of my own plan?
Yes. Every example opens as a new project in your browser. Change it as much as you like; the example itself stays as it is.
Why are sizes measured to the wall center lines?
That is how the editor measures rooms, so the numbers on these pages match the area schedule when you open a plan.
Are the clearances in the notes rules I have to follow?
No. They are rules of thumb for comfortable use. Rules for stairs, bathrooms or bedroom windows are set locally, so check the requirements where you build.
