Floor Plan Maker for Personal Use

Draw your home to scale before you renovate, build or move the furniture around. MyFloorPlanMaker is free and runs in your browser: draw the plan in 2D, look at it in 3D, then export it or send a share link. You do not need an account.

What you can do for free

  1. Draw a to-scale floor plan

Click walls into place, set exact dimensions in metric or imperial, and snap doors and windows where you need them.

  2. Plan a room before you buy furniture

Measure your room, add the pieces you already own, and check whether a new sofa or desk actually fits before you spend money.

  3. Visualise a renovation

Move a wall, add a room or knock two rooms into one, then turn the 3D view around the result to catch problems before the builder does.

  4. Share with family or contractors

Export as PDF, SVG or PNG, or share a link. The person on the other end does not need an account to open it.

How to draw your own floor plan

  1. Choose a starting point

Open a blank canvas, or pick the template closest to your project and adjust its walls to your measurements.

  2. Draw the walls

Click to place each corner and type the length of each wall as you go. The editor snaps to the grid and to other walls, so corners stay square.

  3. Add doors, windows and labels

Drag doors and windows from the library onto a wall, then label each room so the plan reads clearly.

  4. Switch to 3D

Click the 3D button and walk through the plan. You can change wall heights and add furniture there, and set the sun to see where light comes in through the windows.

  5. Export or share

Download as PDF for printing, SVG for a CAD workflow, PNG for a quick visual, or DXF for professional software.

Why use a free floor plan maker

Paying a professional to draw a plan is worth it for a full renovation, but most of the time you only need to check whether a sofa fits, whether a doorway clears a staircase, or what a room looks like with a different wall arrangement. A free online floor planner lets you experiment as often as you like, save every version, and send a link when someone asks what you have in mind.

Home projects, and the page that helps with each

  1. Measure before you draw

Wall-to-wall lengths, door and window positions, ceiling height. The guide covers what to measure and in what order, so the plan matches the room.

  2. Map the home you live in

Turn your measurements into a plan of the whole flat or house, then try renovation ideas on a copy and keep the original as it is.

  3. Check a new sofa or table fits

Enter the piece and the space you want around it. The calculator gives the floor zone it needs and checks it against your room.

  4. Size a bedroom around the bed

Enter the bed, nightstands and wardrobe. The calculator gives the smallest clear room for that arrangement.

  5. Compare plans before you build or buy

One- to five-bedroom, single-story and two-story layouts with room sizes, each one editable.

Your plans stay on your device

Projects save automatically in your browser and keep working offline once the app has loaded. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account, so a plan of your home is not stored on anyone else's server.

The flip side: clearing the site's data in your browser deletes your projects. Download a .fp3d project file to keep a backup or to move a plan to another computer. To show a plan to someone, send a share link: it carries the whole plan and opens without an account.

No. MyFloorPlanMaker runs in your browser and saves projects on your device, so you can create, edit and export without signing in.
