Floor Plan Software for Interior Designers

Show the client the layout before any furniture is moved. Interior designers use MyFloorPlanMaker to draw the room from their survey, furnish it in 2D and 3D, and send a scaled PDF or a share link the client can open without an account.

What designers use it for

  1. Draw plans to exact client measurements

Type wall lengths in mm or inches and snap to the grid and to existing walls. When you change a wall later, its dimensions update with it.

  2. Stage rooms with real furniture sizes

The built-in library has beds, sofas, tables and other standard pieces at their real footprints, so the plan shows what actually fits.

  3. Show the client two views at once

Use the 2D plan for dimensions and the 3D view to show how the room will look. Switch between them in one click, or open both side by side.

  4. Export what the client needs

PDF for a presentation pack, SVG for hand-off to a CAD drafter, PNG for a quick concept image, or DXF for the engineer.

From brief to client presentation

  1. Set up the room from the brief

Enter the wall lengths from your measured survey, add doors, windows and openings, and label each zone: bedroom, ensuite, walk-in robe.

  2. Explore layout options

Duplicate the project and try a different furniture arrangement on the copy. Each version is its own project, so you can open them one after the other.

  3. Switch to 3D for the client meeting

Walk the client through the room in 3D: where the light comes in, the route from the door to the window, and why the sofa sits where it does.

  4. Export the plan

Export a PDF with a scale bar and title block for the concept document, or send a share link that opens a copy of the plan on the client's own device.

One model for the plan and the 3D view

Many clients find a plan hard to read. Give them the 2D plan for the sizes and the 3D walkthrough for the look. Both are views of the same project in MyFloorPlanMaker, so an edit in one shows up in the other and the two never disagree.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import an existing CAD plan?

Not as a DXF: DXF import is not available. Export the CAD plan as a PDF or image, load it as a background, set its scale from a known length and trace the walls, or type each measured wall length and the plan is drawn to scale.

Is the plan accurate enough to hand to a builder?

Use it to agree the layout, not as construction drawings. Dimensions are stored in millimetres, but builders work from construction drawings prepared by a qualified professional; the scaled PDF and the DXF help them redraw the plan.

Can I work in feet and inches?

Yes. Every input field accepts both systems, and you can switch the whole project between metric and imperial at any time.

Can I share a plan with a client without them signing up?

Yes. Generate a share link and the client opens it in any browser. They can pan, zoom and view in 3D without an account.
